TP-Link Bidirektionales 1000Base-BX-WDM-SFP-Modul

I have a network challenge to connect two LAN switches one has a single mode SC-SC duplex transceiver and the other has a multi mode LC-LC duplex transceiver. Instead of buying a new transceiver pair and changing the fiber type on one network, I got the TP-Link MC230L media converter. It is rated for 2G networks using SFP modules. A rugged metal body is what shields and protects the device components and signal integrity within.

I have several of these devices around my property, where I have four or five structures spread across a large property and connected by buried fiber optic cables. These media adapters work great with Cisco brand SFPs. (They probably work with others, too, but my entire network environment is Cisco.) If you need to convert between fiber types -- perhaps for long or short distance runs -- this is a very easy way to do it. You just need the fibers and appropriate SFPs, and it's plug-and-play. I have even used these devices in an outdoor setting (in weatherproof boxes), and they are generally fine -- heat will get to them at the peak of a Texas summer, so make sure you are at least shaded if you have an outdoor installation. I have never had any reliability problems with my indoor-based units. If you tinker with fiber optics, you almost undoubtedly know a situation where you will need one of these to extend a run, add a run, change between fiber types or wavelength for transmission distance, etc. I can very highly recommend this product and the TP-Link brand. They are a great solution at a very low price, and are pretty much "set it and forget it" solutions.

Nice TP-Link SPF fiber Media converter. I used this to convert from Gigabit SPF to fiber SPF. I had a couple SPF cages and this was a decent budget friendly option till I can order a new enterprise switch. I have used and have always had good luck with TP-Link brand network equipment and ths one is no exception. Overall good value for the cost.

These TP-Link media converters are pretty reliable and simple to use. As a network administrator, I've purchased several different models and types of media converters, all from TP-Link, and we have had zero issue with them. All you do is plug the converter into power, and then insert two SFP modules into the slots, and you're good to go. The fact that it has two SFP ports means that you can customize your infrastructure any way that you need. Whether its single or multimode fiber connections, or copper. Now that's what I call versatile. I'd recommend this to anyone that has to manage a network that involves mixed fiber optic and copper connections, or is looking to expand their network.

Bought to use with a BT leased line fibre connection. This sits after thr BT ADVA unit and converts to 1gbps ethernet into our firewall. Maintains full speed from the ADVA and doesn't generate much heat.

Used this as a media converter with a copper SFP and a MultiMode SFP to put a network drop at the end of a fiber run. It's been in use for about three weeks now and the uplink switch port (on the fiber side) has zero transmit and and receive errors. The interface on the copper also has no errors on the link over that time. It's been stable and has passed a bit over a TB of traffic to this point. The copper SFP is an official Cisco ($$$) that I had laying around and the fiber MM is a ubiquity MM 1gig. Definitely recommend this.

Just recently started to upgrade my long ethernet cables around the house and garage. These fiber optic media converters are great. Connection is stable and much faster at least in my end. I have drop to 1ms when doing speed test. Was doing an average between 5-7ms. Can't complain and glad I have decided to change my long ethernet cables to fiber. Kids love the new connections.

This is a nice and high quality media converter. useful for converting SMF to MMF or vice-versa. Works well and haven't had any issues yet. It has worked with every transceiver and DAC I've tried so far.
